The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous
inspiration. For this reason and many

television event has arrived. At his
house, Tommy Vinson watches the T.V. event.
Vinson is a retired professional gambler. At his house, Vinson hides the gambling
action from his wife. The Texas Hold ‘Em
event begins. Surprisingly, Alex
Stillman is showcased, as a new young gun.
Stillman is 21 years old, and, from the Los Angeles
area. The gambling action is
intense. Apparently, Stillman has lost a
lot of money. Stillman bets $10,000
dollars, on a hand. Unexpectedly,
Stillman puts in all of his money, on the hand.
Stillman loses the hand to, Karen “Razor” Jones. The event ends for Stillman; he’s out of
money. At his house, Vinson turns off
the T.V. Outside a horse race track,
Vinson and a friend talk. Vinson wants
to gamble. However, he wants his friend
to do it, for him. Meanwhile, at a card
table Stillman gambles. The card game is
Texas Hold ‘Em. Out of nowhere, Vinson
watches Stillman. Outside the casino,
Stillman and Vinson wait for their cars; separately. Surprisingly, Vinson’s friend says hello to
Stillman. He also commends his card game
playing abilities. Unexpectedly, Vinson
doesn’t agree. Vinson disapproves of Stillman’s
abilities. Grudgingly, Stillman takes
Vinson’s business card. Both, Stillman
and Vinson leave in separate directions.
At the casino, Vinson and Stillman re-meet; coincidentally. Vinson asks Stillman for 5 minutes, of his
time. Vinson teaches Stillman the
positives and negatives, of other card players or gamblers. The instructions become instructions about,
Texas Hold ‘Em. Finally, Stillman asks
Vinson, what is everything about? Vinson
is interested in big money, from card gambling.
He wants to pay for the buy-in.
Stillman will be the card player.
From there, the profits are shared 50/50. Stillman is reluctant, at first. Vinson also says that, he has to be the
boss. Vinson guarantees financial
security. A short time later, Stillman
agrees to do Vinson’s gambling plan.
Stillman and Vinson become professional gamblers, together. Regrettably, Stillman experiences an
embarrassing incident with a prostitute.
Stillman didn’t know that a woman named, Michelle, was indeed a Las
Vegas prostitute.
Somehow, Stillman finds a way to blame Vinson, for the Michelle
situation. Furthermore, he ends the
business relationship. The personal
friendship also ends. At the world
championship tournament, Stillman and Vinson are contestants. Additionally, they compete against each
other, for the championship of the world tournament. Director, Gil Cates, Jr., does a good
job. This movie is a light and fun
gambling story. The character, Michelle,
is a good twist to something that, could have been ordinary. Furthermore, Shannon Elizabeth, as Michelle,
was a good decision. There is a subtle,
yet noticeable, charm to Shannon Elizabeth.
Unfortunately, the gambling action moves too slow. Additionally, more development was
needed. The writers do an equally good
job. This gambling story moves along, in
the proper direction. A retired
professional gambler, Tommy Vinson, is also a good twist to things. Furthermore, this particular character was
well written. Unfortunately, there is a
lot that is missing from the character, Alex Stillman. As a result, this movie or story, falls
short. The officially recognized stars
do a good job performing their roles.
Special recognition is merited to Shannon Elizabeth. There is a good amount of charm, in the
Michelle character. Overall, this movie
earns the rating of 4 out of 10.
The movie
narrative of, Deal (2008), is as
follows. There are opening credits. Alex Stillman, a university student, plays
Texas Hold ‘Em. The gambling action
becomes serious. Stillman goes in on the
bet. He also thinks of himself, as a
card game expert. Success, Stillman wins
the hand. The scene changes. Stillman and a friend talk about the end, of
university. Surprisingly, Stillman
receives a telephone call from Melissa.
Stillman has a romantic interest, in Melissa. The friend passes Stillman, the
telephone. Awkwardly, Stillman ends the
call and hangs up the telephone. The
friend cannot believe, what just happened.
The scene changes. Stillman plays
internet Texas Hold ‘Em, in front of, a large group of friends. If Stillman wins, then, he will be a
contestant in a Texas Hold ‘Em television event. Success, Stillman wins the internet card
game. After the graduation ceremony,
Stillman’s parents greet him. Stillman’s
father is not 100% happy. Stillman’s
friend arrives and joins the group.
Unexpectedly, Stillman’s father learns about the Texas Hold ‘Em
tournament. Obviously, he is not happy,
and, reprimands Stillman. The Texas Hold
‘Em television event has arrived. At his
house, Tommy Vinson watches the T.V. event.
Vinson is a retired professional gambler. The T.V. hosts introduce the gamblers, for
the event. The contestants include
Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Tex Button and Karen “Razor” Jones. At his house, Vinson hides the gambling
action from his wife. He pretends to
watch baseball. The Texas Hold ‘Em event
begins. Surprisingly, Alex Stillman is
showcased, as a new young gun. Stillman
is 21 years old, and, from the Los Angeles
area. The gambling action is intense. Apparently, Stillman has lost a lot of
money. Stillman bets $10,000 dollars, on
a hand. Unexpectedly, Stillman puts in

works. He receives instructions, and, he
is bored to death. At his house, Vinson
and his wife pass time. They talk about
a sea cruise. They also appear, to be
short on money. Oddly enough, Vinson
wants to spend big. Vinson’s wife,
Helen, reminds Vinson that, their money has to last until they die. The scene changes. Outside a horse race track, Vinson and a
friend talk. Vinson wants to
gamble. However, he wants his friend to
do it for him. Vinson wants to keep the
promise, to his wife. Vinson promised
that, he wasn’t going to gamble. Meanwhile,
at a card table Stillman gambles. The
card game is Texas Hold ‘Em. Stillman
argues with another card player. Out of
nowhere, Vinson watches Stillman. At the
card table, Stillman announces that he is leaving. Outside the casino, Stillman and Vinson wait
for their cars; separately.
Surprisingly, Vinson’s friend says hello to Stillman. He also commends his card game playing
abilities. Unexpectedly, Vinson doesn’t
agree. Vinson disapproves of Stillman’s
abilities. Stillman argues back with
Vinson. Vinson attempts to give Stillman
his business card. Out of nowhere,
Stillman’s friend stops Vinson.

Hold ‘Em. Vinson tells Stillman that,
you play the player. At the card table,
you do not play the cards. Finally,
Stillman asks Vinson, what is everything about?

Additionally, he borrowed a lot of money, and, lost all of it. Vinson lost everything, and, almost his
wife. Vinson stopped gambling, so that,
his wife would stay. He hasn’t gambled
in 20 years. Stillman is surprised, by
Vinson’s story. Stillman brings up
Vinson’s gambling idea. Vinson asks
Stillman to trust him. Stillman replies,
all right. They agree to do, Vinson’s
gambling plan. Vinson takes out old VHS
tapes, on Texas Hold ‘Em. They watch
Vinson’s VHS tapes. Through the VHS
tapes, Vinson instructs Stillman.
Stillman is anxious to gamble, and, he begs. Stillman wants to gamble in Los
Angeles. Vinson
insists, Las Vegas Nevada. Vinson and Stillman arrive in Las
Vegas, Nevada. Surprisingly, old gamblers recognize
Vinson. They also think Stillman, is his
son. Stillman sits at a card table. The gambling action begins. In this hand, Stillman folds his cards. In this hand, Stillman gambles all of his
money. He loses, and, the dealer returns
some of his money. The other player had put
in less money, than Stillman. Stillman
leaves the table, and, sits at the bar.
Vinson follows Stillman. Vinson
tells Stillman that, he is biting his lower lip. Stillman says; no, I don’t. Vinson becomes frustrated and wants to
leave. Oddly enough, Stillman wants to
continue gambling. Stillman returns to
the card table, and, the gambling action continues. In this hand, Stillman bets all of his money. Success, Stillman wins the hand. The scene changes. Stillman and Vinson sit at a bar and talk. Vinson warns that gamblers have long
memories. Surprisingly, Stillman notices
a woman. Vinson encourages Stillman, to
approach the woman. Stillman confesses
that, he is awkward with women. Vinson
continues to encourage Stillman. At the
bar, Stillman attempts to talk to a brunette.
The woman attempts to deflect Stillman’s advances. Stillman stays, and, he talks awkwardly to
the woman. The woman makes Stillman,
hold a conversation with her. She also
asks Stillman, to ask her out on a date.
The woman’s name is Michelle.
Stillman asks Michelle out on a date.
Michelle replies, I don’t know.
Stillman tells Michelle, what he does for a living. Michelle replies, no thanks. Stillman insists that, he is a CEO for a
Fortune 500 Company. Surprisingly, Michelle
agrees to a date with Stillman. At an
arcade, Stillman and Michelle have their first date. At the air hockey table, and unexpectedly,
Stillman hits Michelle with the puck.
Surprisingly, Michelle kisses Stillman.
Everything appears to be fine. The scene changes. At the airport, Stillman and Vinson wait for
their flight. They also talk about
Michelle. Vinson reveals that Friday, is
the tournament in New Orleans. Stillman is in, for the trip to New
Orleans.
Stillman invents an excuse, which gets him out of work. The excuse works, and, Vinson and Stillman
arrive in New Orleans. Stillman gambles and wins. Vinson is close by, watching. This day, Stillman wins a lot of money. However, Vinson wants Stillman to remain
calm. Stillman promises Vinson that, he
will win $600,000 dollars. The scene
changes. During the night, Vinson and
Stillman sleep in their hotel room.
Unexpectedly, the telephone starts ringing. Out of nowhere, Vinson throws the
telephone. He also teaches Stillman an
important lesson, about gambling. Other
gamblers attempt distractions, and sabotage, during the night. Unexpectedly, someone knocks on the
door. Vinson asks Stillman, to not
answer the door. Stillman opens the
door, and, two fat prostitutes are standing there. Vinson says, I told you. At a card table, the gambling action
continues. This day, Stillman feels
tired and loses money. Unexpectedly,
Stillman leaves the table angry. He also
talks to Vinson. Vinson is angry, at
Stillman. Vinson thinks that Stillman,
is returning to his bad habits. Stillman
tells Vinson to play a hand. Vinson says
that, he can’t. Stillman makes a comment
about lying to your wife. Vinson leaves
and says, you better go home. The scene
changes. Vinson returns to his house. Furthermore, his wife has her luggage
ready. Helen asks Vinson if, he was in Las
Vegas. Vinson
replies, New Orleans. He also says that, he is teaching Stillman to
play. Helen wants to know, how much, he
lost. Vinson says, $10,000 dollars. Helen is angry and leaves. Furthermore, she tells Vinson that, she will
be at her sister’s house. The scene
changes. Stillman is in a casino in Las
Vegas, Nevada. Surprisingly, he meets-up with Vinson. They get ready for a Texas Hold ‘Em
tournament. First place in the
tournament is $500,000 dollars. Out of
nowhere, Michelle arrives at the card table.
In bed, Michelle and Stillman pass time together. Michelle expresses that, she wishes they
would have met under different circumstances.
Michelle continues by saying that, they have a lot of distance between
them. Surprisingly, Michelle puts on her
clothes and leaves. She also says that,
her father is in town. Before she
leaves, she kisses Stillman for good luck.
The scene changes. On the
telephone, Vinson talks to his wife.
Vinson confesses that, he is in Las Vegas
with Stillman. Vinson says that, the
world championship tournament is in 2 weeks.
He promises to Helen that, everything is over after the world
tournament. He also promises to win
big. Helen says that, winning is not the
point. She also hangs up the
telephone. At the card tables, the
tournament and gambling action continues.
The day ends, Vinson and Stillman talk at the bar. So far, they have won $60,000 dollars, each
person. Unexpectedly, Stillman sees
Michelle with another man. Out of
nowhere, Stillman learns that Michelle is a prostitute. Stillman leaves in an angry state. He is also angry at Vinson. Vinson doesn’t know what to say. Stillman leaves the hotel, without
Vinson. From this point forward; the
series of events, take the viewer, to the end.
Stillman blames Vinson for the Michelle situation. Furthermore, he ends the business
relationship. At the world championship
tournament, Vinson and Stillman are contestants. Vinson and Stillman play each other for the
championship, of the world tournament.
You have to watch, to know, who wins the championship of the world
tournament. Finally; you have to watch,
in order to know, how this movie ends.
