Movie Narrative: Labor Day (2013)


The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration.  For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie narrative.  This week, Labor Day (2013), will be converted into a narrative and subsequently highlighted.  It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then, he or she watches the movie.  The effort is to give the blog reader, an enhanced experience.  RB28’s Movie Narratives, ends this movie narrative of Labor Day (2013), with some Hollywood facts.  
             Labor Day (2013) is rated PG-13.  Furthermore, it is 1 hour and 51 minutes long.  This movie is categorized under the drama and romance genre.  The official release date is January 31st, 2014.  The release date is for the Country of the United States of America.  The director was Jason Reitman.  The writers were Jason Reitman and Joyce Maynard.  The officially recognized stars of Labor Day (2013); were Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin and Gattlin Griffith.  The list of the 15 most important cast members is as follows:

             The synopsis follows.  Labor Day (2013) is a drama movie, out of a rural town.  In a rural town, U.S.A., Adele and Henry are mother and son.  Recently, Henry’s father left his mother for a new woman.  Henry’s father has a baby with the new woman.  Additionally, the new woman has children, from a previous marriage.  Regrettably, Adele still feels a broken heart, about the situation.  In turn, Henry attempts to be a companion, to his mother.  One day, Henry and Adele arrive at a store.  At the store; Adele looks at clothes, whilst, Henry looks at the comic books.  At the comic book section, a man who is dressed as an employee, starts to talk to Henry.  The man is named, Frank.  Frank is bleeding from his lower right side, around his waist.  Additionally, he asks Henry, for help.  They walk over to Adele.  On the way, Frank steals a baseball cap, and, light jacket.  Frank tells Adele that he needs a ride, because, he needs help.  Adele says no, but, Frank attempts to convince her otherwise.  Grudgingly, Adele agrees to help Frank.  Adele drives, whilst, Henry and Frank sit in the back seat.  They drive and arrive at Adele’s house.  Inside the house, Frank looks around.  In the kitchen, Frank explains the situation.  Apparently, Frank is/was a prisoner at a state prison.  He was taken to the hospital, in order, to have an appendectomy.  At the hospital; Frank jumped out of a second story window, and, he escaped.  This happened early in the morning.  Frank asks Adele, if he can stay until the night.  Frank ends up staying the entire Labor Day weekend, with Adele and Henry.  Throughout this time, Frank remembers the events that took him to prison; for the murder of his wife.  For Adele and Frank, the Labor Day weekend presents itself as an opportunity, to re-discover true love.  Director, Jason Reitman, does a very good job.  This simple story is very captivating.  Furthermore; the town adds a lot of charm to the movie, and, everything that the viewer sees in this movie works.  Everything that is happening in this movie works, is also, part of the previously stated.  The writers do an equally very good job.  There is a quiet captivating simplicity to the Adele and Frank characters.  Furthermore, their romance is not exaggerated, and, everything works.  The voice of Adult Henry, helps to move the story forward.  The officially recognized stars contribute tremendously.  They would be missed, if they were not chosen.  Special recognition is merited to Josh Brolin and Tom Lipinski.  The Frank and Young Frank characters, are very memorable.  Overall, Labor Day (2013) earns the rating of 7 out of 10. 
            The movie narrative of, Labor Day (2013), is as follows.  A car drives through a rural town, U.S.A.  The year is 1987.  The house is, Adele’s house.  Henry, Adele’s son, puts on music and makes coffee.  Henry finishes getting dressed, and, Adele and Henry leave the house.  Adele drives, and, Adult Henry narrates the story.  Henry’s father left his mother, for a new woman.  Henry’s father and the new woman, have a baby.  Additionally, the woman has children from her previous marriage.  Henry stayed with his mother, Adele.  Adele is still heartbroken, about what happened.  Furthermore, they do things as companions.  Adult Henry, continues to narrate the story.  Adele drives, and, they arrive at a bank.  Henry deposits a check and withdraws money; for his mother.  Henry and Adele arrive at a store, and, Adult Henry continues to narrate.  Adele looks at clothes, whilst, Henry looks at the comic books.  At the comic books, a man who is dressed as an employee, starts to talk to Henry.  The man is named, Frank.  Frank is bleeding from his lower right side, around his waist.  Additionally, he asks Henry for help.  They walk over to Adele.  On the way, Frank steals a baseball cap, and, light jacket.  Frank tells Adele that he needs a ride, because, he needs help.  Adele says no, but, Frank attempts to convince her otherwise.  Grudgingly, Adele helps Frank.  Adele drives, whilst, Henry and Frank sit in the back seat.  They are driving to Adele’s house.  They arrive at Adele’s house.  Inside the house, Frank looks around.  In the kitchen, Frank explains the situation.  Apparently, Frank is/was a prisoner at a state prison.  He was taken to the hospital, in order, to have his appendix removed.  At the hospital, Frank jumped out of a second story window, and, he escaped.  This happened earlier this morning.  Frank asks Adele, if he can stay until the night.  Adele is afraid, that, Frank will hurt them.  Frank says that, he won’t hurt them.  Frank asks Henry, about the distance to the train tracks.  Henry says, about 20 minutes.  Adele says that, she won’t allow something to happen to her son.  Frank says that, Henry is in good hands.  The scene changes, and, Young Frank works at a farm.  Young Frank notices a woman.  The scene changes, and, there is a television news report on the television.  The news report is about Frank.  Additionally, the news report says the story, which, Frank told.  Furthermore, Frank is considered to be armed and dangerous.  Apparently, Frank is/was in prison for murder.  Frank, Adele and Henry talk about the circumstances, in which, they are in.  Frank decides to make everything look, as if he kidnapped them.  Frank ties Adele to a chair, in order, to maintain appearances.  Frank starts to cook.  Frank finishes cooking, and, he feeds Adele.  Adele is still tied to the chair.  Henry eats in the living room.  Adele talks to Henry about sex.  Adele wants Henry to know that, sex changes how one feels things.  The scene changes, and, Young Frank drives a truck.  A woman is with Frank.  They stop driving, and, they have sexual intercourse.  The scene changes, and, the police look for Frank.  In the house, Frank unties Adele.  During the night, Henry leaves his bed.  Henry watches Frank sleep; on the couch.  It results that, Frank is awake, and, he also watches Henry.  The scene changes, and, Frank passes time with the woman; in the countryside.  The scene becomes a memory.  The memory is:  Young Frank and the woman arrive at a barn; a bath tub overflows with water; Young Frank is leaving for the army; the woman leaves and Young Frank leaves on the bus.  The scene changes, and, it is Friday at Adele’s house.  Frank and Henry eat breakfast.  Frank tells Henry, how he escaped from the hospital.  Frank teaches Henry that, nothing misleads people like the truth.  Henry tells Frank, about the situation with his mother and father.  Adele arrives and joins, Frank and Henry.  Frank passes the day doing repairs, on the house.  Frank fixes Adele’s car.  Adult Henry narrates, Frank’s day of chores around the house.  Frank teaches Henry, how to play baseball.  Adele sows Frank’s pants, when unexpectedly, someone knocks on the door.  Frank and Adele hide, whilst, Henry answers the door.  It results that, it is a neighbor.  The neighbor drops off peaches.  The neighbor also wants to talk to Adele about the escaped prisoner.  The neighbor leaves without further incident.  Frank starts to bake a peach pie.  Adele and Henry are also in the kitchen.  Frank teaches, whilst, Adele and Henry learn.  Adult Henry continues to narrate the story.  Frank, Henry and Adele pass the evening eating pie.  Adele begins to feel romantically connected to Frank.  The police look for Frank, and, Frank watches from a window.  Frank decides that, it is time to leave.  Adele and Henry convince him to stay.  Adult Henry continues to narrate the story.  The day is Saturday at Adele’s house.  Frank continues to do repairs around the house.  Adult Henry narrates Frank’s repairs.  Adele teaches Frank how to dance, and, Henry leaves to buy groceries.  Henry travels to the grocery store, on his bicycle.  At the grocery store, Henry meets a girl.  The girl is new, in town.  Henry pays for the groceries.  Henry returns home walking his bicycle.  Henry arrives at the house, and, the scene changes.  The scene becomes a memory.  The memory is:  Young Frank re-meets the woman; Young Frank has sexual intercourse with the woman; Young Frank walks in a field and Young Frank meets a new woman.  The scene changes, and, a neighbor arrives at Adele’s house.  The neighbor is a woman, and, she looks around the house.  Henry attempts to stop the neighbor.  Adele comes out, and, she talks to the neighbor.  The neighbor has a son named, Barry.  Furthermore, Barry is in a wheel chair.  The neighbor needs to leave Barry at Adele’s house, for the day.  Grudgingly, Adele accepts, to allow Barry, to pass the day at her house.  Inside the house, Barry meets Frank.  Frank, Adele, Henry and Barry play baseball.  Adult Henry continues to narrate the story.  Frank, Adele, Henry and Barry pass the day together.  The scene changes, and, it is Young Frank.  The scene becomes a memory.  The memory is:  Young Frank has sexual intercourse with the new woman; Young Frank watches the new woman in the bathroom; Young Frank has a baby with the woman; Young Frank and the new woman get married; Young Frank and his wife take pictures; Young Frank watches his wife leave; Young Frank confronts his wife about something and Young Frank stands over his dead wife.  The scene changes, and, Adele is in the living room.  Frank, Barry and Henry are also there.  They watch television, and, there is a television news report on the television.  The news report is about Frank.  Barry’s mother arrives, and, the news report continues talking about Frank.  Barry attempts to tell his mother about Frank.  Unexpectedly, Barry’s mother slaps Barry.  Barry leaves, and, Henry brushes his teeth.  Henry watches, Adele and Frank talking to each other.  The day is Sunday at Adele’s house.  Frank and Adele pass time, in the bathroom.  Adele sends Henry to the library.  Additionally, Adele asks Henry to look up books on Canada.  Henry travels to the library, on his bicycle.  At the library, Henry re-meets the girl from the grocery store.  The girl is staying with her father, because, her mother has a new boyfriend.  Henry shares that, her mother has a new man in her life.  The girl shares that, she will be attending the public school.  Furthermore, that she is angry at her parents, because, she was going to go to a private theater school.  Apparently, her parents canceled the private school.  They also talk about Frank.  The girl suggests, getting rid of Frank.  Henry returns home, and, the scene changes.  The scene becomes a memory.  The memory is:  Young Frank watches his wife; Young Frank walks with his wife at a flee market; Young Frank and his wife eat dinner; the bathtub overflows with water; Young Frank looks for his wife at the bowling alley and Young Frank stands over his dead wife.  The scene changes, and, Henry leaves with his father.  Frank watches from the window.  Henry eats dinner, at a restaurant, with his father and his father’s new family.  They talk about family things.  Henry returns to his mother’s house.  Henry discovers his mother and Frank; dancing in the kitchen.  Adele and Frank stop dancing, and, Adele starts to talk to Henry.  Adele tells Henry that, she wants to be with Frank.  Additionally, she also expresses that both of them, want to re-start their lives again in the Country of Canada.  Furthermore, that the entire family is leaving to Canada; including Henry.  They plan to leave, the first day of school.  The day is Monday at Adele’s house.  The new family starts to pack their things, in order, to move to Canada.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  Henry meets up with the girl from the grocery store.  Adele shares her life story.  The police find and arrest Frank.  Henry grows up and becomes Adult Henry.  Frank finds Adult Henry, and, he writes him a letter; from prison.  You have to watch, in order to know, Adele’s story.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
