Movie Narrative: Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998)


The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration.  For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie narrative.  This week, Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998), will be converted into a narrative and subsequently highlighted.  It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then, he or she watches the movie.  The effort is to give the blog reader, an enhanced experience.  RB28’s Movie Narratives, ends this movie narrative of Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998), with some Hollywood facts. 
            Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998) is rated R.  Furthermore, it is 1 hour and 31 minutes long.  This movie is categorized under the drama, mystery and romance genre.  The official release date is August 12th, 1998.  The release date is for the Country of France.  The director was Dan Rosen.  The writer was Dan Rosen.  The officially recognized stars of Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998); were Matthew Lillard, Michael Vartan and Randall Batinkoff.  The list of the 15 most important cast members is as follows:

            The synopsis follows.  Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998) is a drama mystery movie, out of any university in the U.S.A.  At a state university, Christopher Mason checks his course grade.  Chris earned a B plus.  Chris meets-up with Tim.  Both, Tim and Chris, talk about canceling a plan that, they wanted to execute.  Tim decides to cancel, canceling the plan.  The plan is to continue on schedule.  A performance by a stand-up comedian becomes the narrator, or, the narration.  Through the narrator, the viewer learns that a new policy has been implemented, by the majority of universities in the state.  The new policy rewards a student with an A grade, in all of the courses for the semester.  If, the student’s dormitory hall roommate commits suicide.  Tim and Chris are roommates in the dormitory hall.  They have a third roommate in their room.  The third roommate’s name is Rand.  The plan is to force, or trick, Rand into committing suicide.  The objective, is to earn all A grades for the semester.  Furthermore, Tim and Chris start to implement, phase one of their plan.  One night and at a party, Natalie Rand’s girlfriend, tells Rand that she is pregnant.  Rand becomes extremely angry, and, he punches Chris.  Chris falls to the floor; Rand leaves extremely angry, and, Natalie leaves the party in the opposite direction.  Tim is amused with himself, and, he tells Chris that phase one is complete.  Later on that night, Tim and Chris find Rand at a cliff, which is part of the university campus.  They arrive with tequila bottles.  They pass time drinking tequila.  Unexpectedly; Rand starts to cough, in an uncontrollable manner, and, he falls to the floor.  Tim reveals to Rand that, he put rat poison in his bottle.  Rand dies, and, Tim throws Rand’s body off the cliff.  Within days, the Chancellor offers Tim and Chris the all A’s semester.  However, Rand’s body is never found, and, the police start to look around.  Ultimately, it is revealed that Rand is alive.  However, the objective of the all A’s semester, has several twists and turns.  Everything is finally unraveled at the end.  Director, Dan Rosen, does a good job.  Everything is captivating and entertaining.  Furthermore, Mr. Rosen does keep everything tied in a knot until the end.  The end, is also, what you want it to be.  The writer, Dan Rosen, does an equally good job.  The interaction between Tim and Chris is well written, and, extremely engaging.  The Rand character, is also, a unique person.  The officially recognized stars contribute tremendously.  They would be missed, if they were not chosen.  Special recognition is merited to Randall Batinkoff for the Rand character.  Overall, Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998) earns the rating of 7 out of 10.
            The movie narrative of, Dead Man’s Curve [The Curve] (1998), is as follows.  At a state university, Christopher Mason checks his course grade.  Chris earned a B plus.  At a restroom, in the university, Tim sits on the toilet.  Chris arrives, and, he starts to talk to Tim.  Chris tells Tim that, he got the grade that he wanted.  Both, Tim and Chris, talk about canceling a plan that they wanted to execute.  Tim exits the toilet stall, and, he cancels canceling the plan.  Furthermore, he tells Chris that he knows, what he knows.  The scene changes, there are scenes of the university.  A performance by a stand-up comedian becomes the narrator, or, the narration.  Through the narrator, the viewer learns that a new policy, has been implemented for the majority of the universities in the state.  The new policy awards a student an A grade, in all of the courses for the semester.  If, the student’s dormitory hall roommate commits suicide.  The scene changes, Chris is in a counseling session with the university’s psychologist.  The psychologist’s name is, Dr. Ashley.  Chris tells Dr. Ashley that, his roommate is suicidal.  He also asks for the signs of a possible suicide, so that, he can help his roommate.  Dr. Ashley tells Chris the suicidal signs.  The scene changes, Tim and Chris are at the store buying things.  The things are what, Dr. Ashley spoke about.  Furthermore, they talk about the first phase of their plan.  Tim and Chris are roommates, in the dormitory hall.  They do have a third roommate in their room.  The third roommate’s name is, Rand.  The plan is to force, or trick, Rand into committing suicide.  The objective, is to earn all A grades for the semester.  At the student lounge Tim, Chris, Emma, Natalie and Rand pass time together.  Emma and Chris are a couple.  Natalie and Rand are a couple.  Additionally, Natalie is from Canada.  Furthermore, Rand is an abusive boyfriend.  Natalie feels sick, and, she wants to leave.  Rand continues to be an abusive boyfriend.  Natalie becomes angry and leaves.  Emma follows Natalie, in order, to help.  Rand tells Tim and Chris that, Natalie might be his future wife.  Natalie and Emma are roommates, in the dormitory hall.  In their room, Emma confirms to Natalie that, she is pregnant.  Rand is the father of the baby.  On the campus, Rand passes time with other university students.  The hang-out spot, is also, a cliff.  Unexpectedly, the security guard arrives, and, he sends everyone away.  The scene changes, Dr. Ashley orders something at a coffee shop.  The coffee shop, is also, a book store.  Coincidentally, Natalie and Tim are also at the coffee shop.  Natalie tells Tim that, she is pregnant.  Tim shows Natalie support.  Unexpectedly, Rand arrives and Tim leaves.  The scene changes, Chris and Emma pass time together, as a couple.  Chris and Emma arrive at a party.  Tim is already there.  Chris and Emma greet Jimmy.  Jimmy is a student with learning disabilities.  Tim arrives with Renee, and, they join the group.  Renee is Jimmy’s tutor.  Tim teases Jimmy, because, Jimmy has learning disabilities.  Tim and Chris talk, in order, to go over the plan.  Tim and Chris lead a drinking game.  Unexpectedly, Natalie arrives, and, she attempts to talk to Rand.  Rand continues to be an abusive boyfriend.  Emma tries to help Natalie.  After a brief argument, Natalie tells Rand that, she is pregnant.  Tim cheers on Natalie.  Rand becomes angry at, Tim and Chris.  Rand punches Chris, and, he insults Natalie.  The party stops, so that everyone, can watch the argument.  Rand leaves, and, Natalie and Emma leave together; in the other direction.  Tim approaches Chris, and, he confirms that phase one of the plan is complete.  Rand is at the cliff, which is part of the university campus.  Tim and Chris arrive with tequila bottles.  They start to drink, from their own bottle.  Tim, Chris and Rand pass time drinking and talking.  Rand stands up, and, he separates himself from Tim and Chris.  Furthermore, he finishes the tequila bottle.  Tim watches in amusement.  Unexpectedly, Rand begins to cough, in an uncontrollable manner.  Tim reveals that, he put rat poison in Rand’s tequila bottle.  Furthermore, he shouts at Rand that he put rat poison, in his tequila bottle.  Rand falls to the floor.  Tim approaches Rand’s body.  Unexpectedly, Rand reaches out to choke Tim.  Rand chokes Tim, but, he finishes dying and releases Tim’s throat.  Tim recovers quickly, and, he finishes the plan.  Tim leaves the suicide note, and, he throws Rand’s body over the cliff.  The plan has been executed.  Emma sleeps in Chris’s bed that night, and, Tim watches.  At the cliff, the security guard discovers the suicide note.  The next day, Natalie visits the room at the dormitory hall.  Natalie is looking for Rand.  Furthermore, she tells Tim and Chris that she is leaving, and returning, to Canada.  Before she leaves, Natalie takes a picture.  Chancellor Alexander, along with Dr. Ashley, holds a meeting with Tim and Chris.  Furthermore; he offers the policy, of an all A grades semester, to Tim and Chris.  Tim and Chris pretend, to grudgingly accept, the offer.  Tim and Chris’s plan is concluded.  The university campus, holds, a ceremony in honor of Rand.  Natalie, Emma, Tim and Chris pass time together at a bar.  Apparently, Tim and Rand know each other from high school.  Furthermore, he tells a story about Rand.  The story, makes Rand out to be an asshole.  At a cigar shop, Tim and Chris continue to talk about killing Rand.  Natalie passes time by herself.  Natalie decides to commit suicide.  She jumps off the cliff and drowns in the sea.  Dr. Ashley and Chris talk at a counseling session.  A police detective interviews, Tim and Chris.  It results that, Rand’s body has not been found.  During the interview, a second detective appears.  The second detective, extends the interview.  Tim and Chris tell the detectives that, Natalie was pregnant.  Additionally, that Rand punched Chris, the last time they saw him.  The detectives show Tim and Chris, the picture that Natalie took with her.  Tim becomes nervous, and, the police interview ends.  At the coffee shop, Tim and Emma talk about things.  Tim learns that, Emma and Chris talk about the all A’s semester.  Tim insinuates to Emma that Chris is behind, Rand’s death and disappearance.  It results that, Dr. Ashley is in the area listening to the conversation.  Chris and Emma, meet-up, to talk about the Rand situation.  Emma wants to know, if Chris is motivated by the all A’s semester.  The conversation becomes an argument, and, Chris leaves.  The police find Natalie’s body.  Chris attempts to talk to Tim.  Furthermore, he tells Tim that Natalie is dead.  Tim believes that everything is going, according to plan.  At the end of the killing Rand conversation, Chris tells Tim about his relationship trouble with Emma.  Tim implements a plan, in order, to help Chris with Emma.  The plan is Tim is going to pass time with Emma, in order, to distract her.  Chris is going to decorate Emma’s room, with candles and flowers.  Chris is going to hide in Emma’s closet.  At the end of the night, Tim is going to take Emma to Chris.  The police detectives talk to Dr. Ashley, about Tim and Chris.  Tim and Chris execute their Emma Plan.  Tim and Emma return to Emma’s room.  Emma starts to give Tim, oral sex.  Chris watches from the closet.  Chris leaves the closet and bedroom, and, Emma watches Chris leave.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  In a big surprise, it is revealed that, Rand is alive.  The real plan, for the all A’s semester has several twists and turns.  Furthermore, it is revealed that Emma has been part of the plan; from the beginning.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
