Movie Narrative: Red Dog (2011)


The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration.  For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie narrative.  This week, Red Dog (2011), will be converted into a narrative and subsequently highlighted.  It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then, he or she watches the movie.  The effort is to give the blog reader, an enhanced experience.  RB28’s Movie Narratives, ends this movie narrative of Red Dog (2011), with some Hollywood facts.
            Red Dog (2011) is rated PG.  Furthermore, it is 1 hour and 32 minutes long.  This movie is categorized under the biography, comedy and drama genre.  The official release date is August 4th, 2011.  The release date is for the Country of Australia.  The director was Kriv Stenders.  The writers were Daniel Taplitz and Louis de Bernieres.  The officially recognized stars of Red Dog (2011); were Josh Lucas, Rachel Taylor and Rohan Nichol.  The list of the 15 most important cast members is as follows:

            The synopsis follows.  Red Dog (2011) is a family drama story, out of the Country of Australia.  In Australia, a man named Tom drives a truck.  He arrives at his destination; the Mermaid Motor Hotel.  Unfortunately, Tom is unable to find someone, who works there.  Tom decides to look around, the Mermaid Bar.  The Mermaid Bar, is the motor hotel’s bar.  Tom enters the bar, and, he discovers that Red Dog is being held down.  Four men and one police officer, are the people who are holding down Red Dog.  The police officer is pointing his gun, at Red Dog; interestingly enough.  Unexpectedly, the group of men stop, what they are doing.  Tom waits at the bar.  The bartender approaches, and, he serves Tom a beer.  The bartender tells Tom that, someone poisoned the dog.  Additionally, the bartender also says that, the dog is the famous and important; Red Dog.  Tom doesn’t know, who Red Dog is.  The bartender, named Jack, continues by telling Tom that Red Dog, is famous throughout Australia.  Tom still doesn’t know, who Red Dog is.  Jack decides to tell Tom, the story of Red Dog.  In Western Australia, and the year 1971, Jack and Maureen were new arrivals to the iron mining settlement or village.  Maureen is Jack’s wife.  Red Dog, is found sitting in the middle of the highway.  Jack placed him in the cargo trailer, which was attached to his truck.  When Jack and Maureen arrived at their destination, Red Dog was covered, in the red sand of the area.  Therefore, the dog is named, Red Dog.  This dog, quickly becomes part of the life, which the men live at the mining settlement or village.  Additionally, Red Dog officially becomes the dog, for all of the men of the mining settlement or village.  As the men’s dog, Red Dog is voted in as a member, of the miner’s labor union.  Other men jump in, and, they tell Tom; Red Dog’s story.  Through their stories, the men’s affection towards Red Dog, is revealed.  Red Dog always remains an integral part of the men’s lives, until the day that he dies.  Director, Kriv Stenders, does a very good job.  The story of Red Dog is an incredibly fascinating story, for the family.  The action is not slow, and, it is appropriate for all of the members of the family.  The writers do an equally very good job.  The interaction between the characters, is fun and engaging.  Additionally, a slow minute is not even written.  The officially recognized stars contribute tremendously.  They would be missed, if they were not chosen.  Overall, Red Dog (2011) earns the rating of 8 out of 10.
            The movie narrative of, Red Dog (2011), is as follows.  In the Country of Australia, Tom drives a truck on the highway.  The highway traverses, rural Australia.  Tom arrives at his destination; the Mermaid Motor Hotel.  Tom looks around, but, he cannot find someone who works there.  Tom decides to enter, the Mermaid Bar.  The Mermaid Bar is the motor hotel’s bar.  Tom hears people talking, and, he approaches to see.  Tom runs to see, what is happening.  He finds that Red Dog, is being held down by four men.  A police officer is pointing his gun, at Red Dog.  The group of men, stop, what they are doing.  Tom decides to wait, at the bar.  The bartender approaches, and, he serves Tom a beer.  The bartender tells Tom that, the dog was poisoned.  The bartender starts to tell Tom, why, Red Dog is important and famous in Australia.  A woman enters the bar; furthermore, she tells the bartender that the veterinarian is on his way.  The bartender’s name is, Jack.  Jack starts to tell the story of Red Dog, and, how he and his wife arrived at this location.  The story begins, approximately, 10 years earlier.  Jack and his wife are driving on the highway.  They stop, because, a dog is sitting in the middle of the highway.  Jack and his wife, get out and greet the dog.  Unexpectedly, the dog runs and gets in the truck.  Jack and his wife, continue driving on the highway.  The dog starts to fart.  The dog is placed in the cargo trailer, which is attached to the truck.  It is Western Australia, and, it is the year 1971.  Jack and his wife, arrive at their destination; an iron mining settlement or village.  Jack’s wife is named, Maureen.  The dog is covered, in the red sand of the area.  Therefore, the dog is appropriately named, Red Dog.  The scene changes, and, Jack and Tom are at the Mermaid Bar.  The veterinarian arrives.  Vanno joins Jack and Tom, at the bar.  Vanno is from a small village, in Italy.  Furthermore, he starts to tell the story of Red Dog; from his perspective.  Vanno arrived to make money mining for iron, along with the other men, from a different part of the world.  The scene changes, and, Red Dog is a new arrival to the settlement or village.  Red Dog becomes part of the life, which the men live.  Vanno starts to annoy the other men.  The other men are tired of hearing about, Vanno’s village in Italy.  One day, the men beat up Vanno.  A man named Peeto, asks Vanno, to stop talking about his village.  Vanno, instead, decides to talk to Red Dog, about his village in Italy.  Time passes, and, Red Dog passes a lot of time with Vanno.  One day, Peeto starts to talk to Red Dog; the same way Vanno talks to Red Dog.  Vanno starts to feel jealous.  Officially; Red Dog becomes the dog, for all of the men, of the mining settlement or village.  Furthermore, the men vote Red Dog in as a member, of their labor union.  The story continues, with the arrival of John.  John is an American, and, he is the bus driver.  John’s bus transports the men, from the settlement/village to the work site.  John quickly learns that, Red Dog sits in the middle of the highway, in order, to catch a ride.  The other men teach John, Red Dog.  One day, John and Red Dog pass time together.  Time passes, Red Dog starts to look for John.  One night, John arrives at the bar.  The men are gambling on Red Dog’s eating habits.  John stops the gambling.  Furthermore, he is involved in a fist fight protecting Red Dog.  John takes Red Dog away.  Red Dog starts to ride on the bus, whenever, John is the bus driver.  John is considered to be, Red Dog’s master.  The scene changes, and, the veterinarian makes an announcement about Red Dog.  The veterinarian recommends that, Red Dog should rest for the night.  The scene changes, and, the story of Red Dog continues.  The story continues with, the arrival of Nancy.  It turns out that, Red Dog doesn’t share a seat with Nancy.  Grudgingly, Red Dog decides to share a seat on the bus.  Red Dog starts to fart, whilst, riding the bus.  John, Nancy and the men wait outside.  John asks Nancy, out on a date.  Nancy agrees to go out on a date, with John.  John asks Peeto, if, he can borrow his car and watch Red Dog.  Peeto agrees to both things.  Red Dog passes the night, with Peeto.  Unexpectedly, Red Dog escapes Peeto’s room.  John arrives at the trailer park, in order, to pick up Nancy.  This night, John meets Red Cat, for the first time.  Red Cat belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Cribbage.  Mr. Cribbage is the care taker, of the trailer park.  John and Nancy are on their date, when, Red Dog finds them.  John and Nancy take Red Dog, back to Peeto.  Additionally, John and Nancy leave on John’s motorcycle.  Furthermore, they arrive at a new destination and continue, the date.  The next day, Red Dog finds John and Nancy.  Red Dog, John and Nancy pass time together.  The scene changes, and, the location is the Mermaid Bar.  Jack, Tom and Vanno are inside the Mermaid Bar.  Vanno continues telling the story of Red Dog.  The scene changes, and, Red Dog is at the trailer park.  Red Dog and Red Cat have their first fight.  Red Dog is chased away and shot.  Red Dog is seen shot and lying, on the highway.  John and the men travel, and, they find Red Dog.  The men and John drive Red Dog, to the veterinarian.  The veterinarian is able to treat and save, Red Dog’s life.  All of a sudden, Vanno notices the veterinarian’s assistant.  Vanno volunteers to return, with Red Dog, two weeks later.  Red Dog needs to have the stitches removed.  Vanno misses his opportunity, to ask out on a date, the veterinarian’s assistant.  Vanno returns, with Red Dog, three weeks later for a second attempt.  Vanno misses his opportunity.  Vanno returns, with Red Dog, four weeks later for a third attempt.  Vanno misses his opportunity.  Vanno returns, with Red Dog, five weeks later for a fourth attempt.  Finally, Vanno seizes the opportunity and asks, the veterinarian’s assistant out on a date.  The scene changes, and, Tom and the men are at the Mermaid Bar.  Jocko continues telling the story of Red Dog.  Furthermore, he tells the story of the day, Red Dog saved his life.  The scene changes, and, Jocko is at the bar feeling depressed.  The men are out on the bay, for a day on the beach.  The bay is visited by sharks, incidentally.  Jocko swims out, in an attempt, to drown or be eaten by the sharks.  Unexpectedly, Red Dog steals a steak.  Furthermore, he runs and starts to swim towards Jocko.  All of a sudden, a shark starts to circle Jocko.  Red Dog arrives with the steak.  Jocko throws the steak, and, he is able to distract the shark.  Jocko and Red Dog swim, and, they escape the shark.  The scene changes, and, Jocko is at the bar with Tom.  Tom asks the men, what happened to John and Nancy.  The scene changes, and, the story continues at John’s house.  Unexpectedly; John stops the party, and, he proposes marriage to Nancy.  Nancy says yes, to marrying John.  John passes time with Nancy.  One day, Jock calls Nancy, because, John isn’t at work.  Nancy doesn’t know, where he is.  Jocko feels worried, and, he leaves with Peeto and Vanno.  They leave, to be able to, look for John.  On the highway; the men notice a dead kangaroo, and, they stop.  Vanno is the first person who discovers that, John is dead.  At John’s house, Red Dog waits for his master.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
            The movie narrative of the feature film, Red Dog (2011), ends with some Hollywood facts.  The countries of origin are The United States of America and Australia.  The official languages are English and Polish.  Unfortunately, this movie was not officially released in the United States of America.  Irregardless of which, there are other notable release dates.  The other notable release dates are:  Germany, February 2011 (Berlin International Film Festival); South Korea, October 7, 2011 (Busan International Film Festival); UK/Britain, February 24, 2012 and Ireland, February 24, 2012.  There are 9 filming locations, in total, for this feature film.  The filming locations include; the Country of Australia, and, the Country of Japan.  Unfortunately, there is limited box office data.  The original budget is estimated at, $8 million 500 thousand AUD.  Regrettably, there is no more box office data that is available.  The production dates, that are reported, are March 1, 2010 to May 30, 2010.  The production companies are Woss Group Film Productions, Screen Australia, Endymion Films, Essential Entertainment, Screenwest and The South Australian Film Corporation.  There are several distributors for this particular movie.  Some of the distributors include the following; Roadshow Film Distributors (Australia), A.R.C.
