Light (2007) is a drama movie about a man, out of the Country of Mexico. Specifically, this man is in love, with two
women. At a farm, in the deep Mexican
countryside, a man named Johan is married to Esther. Additionally, they have several children, in
all of the age groups. Johan and
Esther’s life, is a very slow farm life.
Johan and Esther are also deeply religious people. In fact, they sit in prayer before
meals. One day, Esther leaves with the
children. Johan goes to the mechanic
shop, in order, to pick-up a repaired part.
For some unknown reason, Johan decides to confess to Zacarias that, he
has been seeing another woman. Johan
also tells Zacarias that, he feels that the other woman, is also, better for
him. Zacarias listens patiently. Johan’s parents are also farmers. One night, Johan’s parents are milking the
cows. Johan arrives and asks his father,
if, he can talk to him. Johan confesses
to his father that, he has another woman.
Additionally, that he has told his wife, since the beginning, about
Marianne. Johan and his father, continue
talking. Johan’s father confesses to
Johan that, he was in the same situation; when he was a young man. Johan’s father doesn’t have an answer. However, he does tell Johan, to decide quickly. The longer that Johan waits, the worse it
would be. Johan continues to see the
other woman, Marianne. In fact; one
afternoon Johan visits Marianne for sexual intercourse, whilst, he is with his
children. His children end up passing
the time with a man named, Bobby. Bobby
speaks the English Language, and, he watches television shows that are in the
French Language. Bobby’s van is equipped
with a television. Ultimately, in a
“farm” sort of way, Esther, becomes fed up with Johan’s other woman. Director, Carlos Reygadas, regrettably
doesn’t do a good job. The
cinematography is extremely captivating, and, the viewer doesn’t feel a two
hour movie. Unfortunately, everything
else is extremely terrible. The writer,
Carlos Reygadas, does an equally terrible job.
After all, the story is only Johan, being married and having a lover. There is nothing more, to that. The officially recognized stars don’t do a
good job performing their roles.
Overall, Silent Light (2007)

The movie narrative of, Silent Light (2007), is as follows. This movie is filmed in the German

stars. The scene becomes the
countryside, with a night sky and stars.
The sun starts to bleed red, across the sky. The white light of the sun, starts to
shine. Morning approaches the
countryside. The countryside is flat,
with some trees. The night has ended,
and, it is the morning. It is almost 6:30 am.
At a farm, and in the farm house, Johan and his family sit in
prayer. Johan’s wife is named,
Esther. The prayer, is a silent prayer. The prayer ends, and, Johan and his family
eat breakfast. They eat cereal for
breakfast. Johan and Esther have several
children, in all of the age groups. The
family finishes eating breakfast. Esther
and the children, get ready to leave.
Johan sits, by himself, at the dining table. Esther approaches, Johan. Esther says good bye, and, she leaves. Johan stands up, and, he winds the
clock. Johan sits by himself, and
unexpectedly, he starts to cry. Johan
leaves his house. He also passes time,
with his dog. Johan leaves on his
truck. Johan drives on a dirt road. Johan arrives at the destination; it appears
to be, a mechanic shop for farm vehicles.
Inside the mechanic shop, men work.
Johan asks for a man named, Zacarias.
Johan waits at his truck, for Zacarias.
Johan and Zacarias, talk outside.
Johan is there, to pick up a part.
The men put the part, in Johan’s truck.
Johan and the men, stand around talking.
The other men, Johan and Zacarias, stay and talk. Johan confesses to Zacarias that, he has
another woman. A woman according to
Johan, whom, is not his wife Esther. The
other woman is named, Marianne. Johan
confesses to Zacarias that, Marianne is a better woman for him. Zacarias listens patiently. Johan feels better, and, he starts to
sing. He sings in the Spanish
Language. Johan drives his truck in
circles. Johan finishes driving in
circles, and, he drives away. Johan
walks in the countryside. Johan stops
walking, and, Marianne is waiting for him.
Johan and Marianne kiss. Johan is
in love, with Marianne. At the farm,
Johan showers at the shower house. His
sons wait for their turn. There is a
pool of water, which is next to the shower house. The rest of the children, swim in the pool of
water. They start to use soap, and, the
swimming becomes bathing. Esther and
Johan apply soap, and, they scrub their children. At night, Johan and his family drive in his
truck. At another farm, an elderly
couple prepares various cows for milking.
The cows are milked. Johan
arrives, at the end, of the milking process.
The elderly couple, appears to be, Johan’s parents. Johan talks to his father. Furthermore, he confesses to his father that,
he is in love with another woman. His father
asks, if, he is joking. Johan’s father,
takes Johan outside. Johan’s father,
attempts to talk to him about his farm.
Johan continues to confess his relationship, with the other woman. Johan has been seeing, the other woman for
two years. Johan also tells his father
that, Esther has known; since the beginning.
Johan asks his father, if, he cannot tell his mother. Johan’s father tells Johan that, he will not
tell his mother. Inside the house, Johan
and his father continue talking. Johan
is in love, with both women. Johan asks
for help, because, he wants to choose one woman over the other. Johan’s father confesses that; he had another
woman, and, was in the same situation once.
Johan’s father, doesn’t have a solution.
However, he does tell Johan that, he has to decide quickly. Esther works on the farm, cutting the
corn. Johan and his son, also, work the
farm. Esther prepares the family’s
lunch. Unexpectedly, Johan tells Esther
that, he has to make an urgent delivery.
The delivery is for Marianne.
Esther tells Johan, to take the children to the dentist. Johan and the children, arrive at Marianne’s
business. The business is a
restaurant. Johan and Marianne, go to a
bedroom. Furthermore, they have sexual
intercourse. After the sex, Johan and
Marianne lie in bed together. Marianne
tells Johan that, this is the last time they have sex. Marianne also says that, peace is stronger
than love. Johan and Marianne, continue
talking about the end of their relationship.
Johan returns to the restaurant, and, he asks for his children. He is told that, they are with a man named,
Bobby. Bobby speaks the English
Language. Bobby also owns a van. Johan’s children are with Bobby, watching
television inside the van. The
television program, appears to be, in the French Language. Johan sits with his children, and, he watches
television with them. Bobby closes the van
door. Marianne returns to the
restaurant. At the farm, Johan and his
family sit in prayer. Johan and his
family, eat lunch or dinner. Johan
leaves, in order, to talk to someone.
Johan and Esther, drive in a car.
Johan tells Esther that, Marianne wants to see him. Johan also says that, he has tried to stop
seeing Marianne. Johan and his wife,
talk about life. Johan and Esther, continue
to drive. It starts to rain, and, Esther
starts to feel sick. Esther asks Johan
to stop the car, so that, she can vomit.
Esther holds on to a tree and vomits, in the rain. Esther falls to the ground. Johan finds Esther, after having searched for
her. It appears as if, Esther is
dead. Johan takes Esther’s body, to the
side of the highway. A large truck stops,
and, two men who speak Spanish help Johan.
From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the
end. Finally; you have to watch, in
order to know, how this movie ends.
