Movie Narrative: The Collector (2009)



The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration.  For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie narrative.  This week, The Collector (2009), will be converted into a narrative and subsequently highlighted.  It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then, he or she watches the movie.  The effort is to give the blog reader, an enhanced experience.  RB28’s Movie Narratives, ends this movie narrative of The Collector (2009), with some Hollywood facts.
             The Collector (2009) is rated R.  Furthermore, it is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.  This movie is categorized under the horror genre.  The official release date is July 31st, 2009.  The release date is for the Country of the United States of America.  Additionally, this movie is the first movie, in a series of movies.  The second movie is, The Collection (2012).  The director was Marcus Dunstan.  The writers were Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan.  The officially recognized stars were Josh Stewart, Andrea Roth and Juan Fernandez.  The list of the 11 most important cast members is as follows:

             The synopsis follows.  The Collector (2009) is a violent horror movie, out of a fictitious rural town in the U.S.A.  There are a lot of men doing construction work, on a big house.  The family that lives at this big house, has the last name, Chase.  Arkin works by himself, and, he is doing construction work.  Additionally, he also has the time to play, with the youngest girl of the family.  Furthermore, Arkin gets to know the oldest daughter, whilst, he is smoking a cigarette in his truck.  At this time, the family is preparing to leave on vacation.  This night, Arkin goes to see his daughter.  He has a fight with his ex-wife, and, his ex-wife tells him that she is leaving town.  It results that, both of them owe money to people.  However, Arkin insists that he wants his daughter to stay, in the same town as him.  Out of nowhere, he decides to improvise a theft, at the Chase home.  He calls the crime boss to whom, he owes money to.  Arkin wants the money that night, so they meet to talk, about the theft.  Unexpectedly, the crime boss beats, and, threatens Arkin.  However and reluctantly, he agrees to the theft.  Arkin promises a large jewel, as payment.  Arkin travels to the Chase home, and, he immediately starts the theft.  He is opening the wall safe, when out of nowhere, he starts to hear noise.  For some unknown reason, the Chase family is still in the house.  However, from this point forward, everything becomes a horrific nightmare.  The Collector, is officially inside the house.  Director, Marcus Dunstan, does a terrific job in turning a horror movie into slow, and, suspenseful action.  The writers do an equally, terrific job.  The Arkin character, is a good believable character.  Additionally, Arkin adds a lot of authenticity, to what seems to be just another horror movie.  However, it is not just another horror movie.  The officially recognized stars do a good job performing their roles.  Special recognition is merited to Josh Stewart, for the Arkin character.  Overall, this movie earns the rating of 7 out of 10.
            The movie narrative of, The Collector (2009), is as follows.  At night, a husband and wife arrive at their home.  Surprisingly, they find a mysterious trunk in their bedroom.  The husband opens the trunk; there’s a lot of screaming, and, they are taken prisoner or kidnapped.  The scene changes, and, it is a fictitious rural town or village.  There are a lot of men doing construction work, on a big house.  The family that lives at this big house, has the last name, Chase.  Arkin works by himself, and, he is doing construction work.  Additionally, he also has the time to play, with the youngest girl of the family.  Furthermore, Arkin gets to know the oldest daughter, whilst, he is smoking a cigarette in his truck.  At this time, the family is preparing to leave on vacation.  This night, Arkin goes to see his daughter.  He has a big fight with his ex-wife, and, his ex-wife tells him that she is leaving town.  It results that, both of them owe money to people.  However, Arkin insists that he wants his daughter to stay, in the same town as him.  Out of nowhere, he decides to improvise a theft, at the Chase house.  He calls the crime boss to whom, he owes money to.  Arkin wants the money that night, so they meet to talk, about the theft.  Unexpectedly, the crime boss beats, and, threatens Arkin.  However and ultimately, he agrees to the theft.  Arkin promises a large jewel, as payment.  Arkin travels to the Chase house, and, he starts the theft; immediately.  He is opening the wall safe, when out of nowhere, he starts to hear noise.  For some unknown reason, the Chase family is still in the house.  However, from this point forward, everything becomes a horrific nightmare.  The Collector enters the house; officially.  Surprisingly, Arkin can feel and hear him.  Without knowing more, they start to move around each other.  The Collector, when he entered placed several dead bolts on the door.  Regrettably, Arkin cannot escape the house.  Furthermore; with every step The Collector takes, he leaves behind a trap, or, an improvised device that kills.  As Arkin moves around the house; he keeps finding more and more traps, and, devices of death.  Around this time, The Collector is able to capture Michael Chase.  Additionally, the capture, is also, a violent attack.  Michael Chase is the father of the family.  Somehow, Michael is able to momentarily escape, and, he sees Arkin.  Unfortunately, Michael grabs something that activates, an improvised device of death.  The device of death, throws Michael down to the first floor.  The Collector is there waiting for him.  During this time, Arkin tries to escape through a window, on the second floor.  Unfortunately, he also activates a device of death, and, the window crushes and cuts his hand.  Arkin is able to take his hand out of the device.  Arkin and The Collector continue, to move around each other.  Arkin continues to find traps, and, improvised devices of death.  Regrettably and at this point, Arkin cannot find a way to escape.  Eventually, he ends up in the basement of the house.  In the basement, he finds Michael and his wife.  Both of them are victims, of brutal violence.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  The action remains exactly the same way.  Inside the house, there is a very dramatic and suspenseful movement; between Arkin, and, The Collector.  Arkin always crashes against traps and improvised devices of death.  However, he is successful in finding, and, stealing the large jewel.  Regrettably, and at this point he is still unable to escape from the house.  As the escape attempts continue, the action becomes very slow, and, very dramatic.  The Collector, eventually, is able to capture Arkin; two times in total.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
