Movie Narrative: The Horseman (2008)

             The synopsis follows.  The Horseman (2008) is a thrilling story of underground pornography, and, the desire for revenge; out of the Country of Australia.  In Australia, a man named Forteski has learned that, his daughter has died.  The cause of death is revealed to be alcohol, cocaine and heroin.  Additionally, the police found the body lying, in the alley.  Some time passes, and, Forteski receives a package in the mail.  The package contains a pornographic movie, and, instructions to a specific scene.  The scene is Forteski’s daughter having sex with several men.  Forteski is an exterminator, and, he sets out for revenge.  He also uses his occupation to enter the homes of the men that, were involved in the making of, the pornographic scene.  Forteski feels a deep desire for revenge, and, he kills almost everyone that is involved.  Ultimately; his time expires, and, revenge is not a one-way street.  A man named Derek pays a police officer to have Forteski arrested.  Furthermore, the payment includes having Forteski taken to him.  Derek was in the pornographic scene, and, he was the person who was responsible for the heroin use.  Director, Steven Kastrissios, does an incredible job directing this movie.  The storyline is not in a linear sequence; however, Mr. Kastrissios does a terrific job in putting the story together, in a very coherent way.  Writer, Steven Kastrissios, also does an equally incredible job.  All of the men involved; in the pornographic industry, are very believable, and, well written.  The officially recognized stars do a good job performing their roles.  Special recognition is merited to Peter Marshall and Brad McMurray.  The Christian Forteski and Derek characters where portrayed, respectively, in an exceptional manner.  Overall, this movie earns the rating of 7 out of 10. 
            The movie narrative of, The Horseman (2008), is as follows.  A man named Christian Forteski is traveling to a house.  Forteski is an exterminator, and, he enters the house as an exterminator.  Immediately, Forteski brutally beats the man who lives there.  Furthermore, he interrogates the man about VHS cassette tapes.  The man tells Forteski where he keeps the VHS cassette tapes.  Additionally, Forteski is told to talk to a man named, Finn.  Forteski proceeds to set the house on fire, with the man still alive and inside of it.  It is nighttime, Forteski drives to a restaurant, and, he eats.  At the restaurant, there is a woman named, Alice.  Alice is looking for a ride to, Rockhampton.  When Forteski is leaving the restaurant, he tells Alice that, he will take her to Rockhampton; if she wants.  Alice gets in the car.  Forteski and Alice are driving on the highway, when, Alice finds a picture of Forteski’s daughter.  Forteski remembers the day; the government authorities told him that, she was dead.  Forteski’s daughter died of alcohol, cocaine and heroin.  Forteski also starts to remember the day; he received a pornographic video, in the mail.  It results that, his daughter was in a pornographic movie.  The scene that, has his daughter in it, involves several men having sex with his daughter.  Furthermore, Forteski watches the scene.  Forteski also remembers the day; he threw his daughter’s ashes, into the trash can.  He then spends the day, taking them out of the trash can.  Forteski starts to remember the day; he traveled to the distributor of the pornographic movie.  This day, he pretends that, he is going to buy more than 200 copies.  Forteski learns that, a man named Finn is the producer, and, the owner of a gym.  Forteski obtains the address to the gym, and then, he kills the man that he was talking to.  The scene changes, and, it is the day when Forteski; traveled to Finn’s gym.  Forteski successfully ties him down, and he starts, to interrogate and to torture him.  He successfully obtains names, and, telephone numbers.  Another man appears immediately behind Forteski’s back, and, Forteski starts to get beaten.  However, Forteski successfully defends himself, and, he kills the unknown man.  In extreme anger, Forteski kills Finn.  The scene changes; Forteski and Alice stop at a low priced hotel, for the night.  In the morning, Forteski quickly travels to a man’s house, by himself.  He pretends, he was called to see something, as the exterminator.  The man’s name is Jim, and, Forteski brutally beats him into an unconscious state.  Forteski waits until he wakes up, and then, he starts to torture him.  It results that, Jim was at the filming of the pornographic scene that, has Forteski’s daughter in it.  It is also possible that, he is one of the men that, had sex with his daughter.  It is also believed that, Forteski’s daughter arrived drugged.  Jim’s wife interrupts the torture, but, she knows that her husband is an animal.  Jim’s wife tells Forteski, where Jim’s brother lives.  Additionally, that he’s on the way to the house.  It results that, Jim’s wife sent Forteski the pornographic video, because, she read the article in the newspaper.  Forteski lets her leave, without further incident.  Additionally, he proceeds to brutally beat and kill Jim’s brother, and, Jim.  It is the evening; Forteski is back on the highway, and, driving with Alice as the passenger.  The evening becomes the night, and finally, they arrive at Alice’s destination.  Alice leaves with another man.  The next day; Forteski finds another man, and, he brutally beats him.  Furthermore, the man was in the pornographic scene, and, he tells Forteski everything that he knows.  This man also tells Forteski, about Finn passing around alcohol and cocaine.  The man continues by telling Forteski, about another man named, Derek.  Derek; to be more specific, uses heroin, and, he used heroin with Forteski’s daughter.  For some unknown reason, Forteski lets this man live.  Time passes, and, Forteski is on the highway driving.  Alice calls Forteski on the telephone.  Out of nowhere, Alice asks if he can go for her, and, take her to Brisbane.  Forteski agrees to pick her up.  Additionally and upon re-meeting, they talk about things.  It turns out that, Forteski guesses correctly; Alice is pregnant.  Alice tells him the story of the situation.  Forteski, surprisingly, decides to talk to Alice about his daughter.  Furthermore, he starts to feel at peace, and, they stop at a beach to scatter the ashes.  Forteski and Alice return to the highway, and, they are driving when a police officer stops them.  Unexpectedly, both of them are quickly arrested.  The police officer doesn’t take them to the police station, however and instead, he takes them to a man named, Derek.  This Derek is the same Derek that, Forteski learned about.  Derek pays the police officer, in front of the group of people, for the service.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  Forteski is tortured, and, he barely escapes the torture session.  Additionally, Alice almost dies.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
