Movie Narrative: True Crime [Dangerous Kiss] (1995)

            The synopsis follows.  True Crime [Dangerous Kiss] (1995) is a crime and mystery movie, out of a small town.  In a small town, U.S.A., friends of Mary Giordano arrive, at Mary’s house.  They call her name, and, throw rocks at her window.  Inside the house, Mary Giordano is more interested in a police themed magazine.  The radio reports the disappearance of, Kathleen Donlevy.  Mary prepares to leave for high school.  Mary attends a Catholic High School, for only girls.  Additionally, Mary has an addiction to police work, and, police related things.  She also keeps her own files, on things.  Mary makes a note, about Donlevy’s disappearance, and it is placed in a file.  After school, Mary arrives at the local police station.  Mary greets a police officer, at the front desk.  She asks if, Detective Jerry Guinn is in.  She is told yes, and, she enters to see him.  Mary sits down in front of Det. Guinn.  Det. Guinn feels frustrated to see her.  Mary asks to know, about the Donlevy case.  Apparently, Mary’s father was a police officer who died, while on duty.  Det. Guinn helps Mary, from time to time.  Det. Guinn tells Mary, to get the hell out.  Mary reminds Det. Guinn about, her father.  Det. Guinn reminds Mary about, her father.  Det. Guinn yells at Mary, as a way of keeping her away.  Apparently, Donlevy is believed to be a victim, of a serial killer.  This serial killer is known to make the victims drink bleach, and, window cleaner.  The bodies are also chopped, into pieces.  Along the way, Mary meets a police cadet named, Tony Campbell.  Mary and Tony decide to work together, on the Donlevy case.  Little by little, Tony Campbell’s identity starts to become, questioned.  Mary, herself, starts to believe that Tony Campbell, is the serial killer.  Ultimately, Tony Campbell’s true identity is revealed.  The identity of the serial killer, is also, revealed.  Lastly, the story of the death of Kathleen Donlevy, is revealed.  Director, Pat Verducci, does a good job.  This movie has an entertaining charm, to it.  Everything is simple, and, the story does come together in a linear sequence.  The small amount of action, at the end, does help finish a good effort.  The writer, Pat Verducci, does an equally good job.  The character, Tony Campbell, is a clever and simple serial killer.  Additionally, there is a lot in the simplicity of Tony Campbell.  Revealing how, the character Kathleen Donlevy died, is also a good way of concluding things.  The officially recognized stars do a good job performing their roles.  Overall, True Crime [Dangerous Kiss] (1995) earns the rating of 5 out of 10. 
            The movie narrative of, True Crime [Dangerous Kiss] (1995), is as follows.  Kathleen Donlevy remembers the carnival.  On her knees, Kathleen begs for mercy.  The killer starts to kill Kathleen.  The scene changes, and, there are opening credits.  Friends of Mary Giordano arrive, at Mary’s house.  They call her name, and, throw rocks at her window.  Inside the house, Mary Giordano is more interested in a police themed magazine.  The city is named Burlingame.  The radio reports the disappearance of Kathleen Donlevy.  Mary prepares to leave for high school.  Mary attends a Catholic High School, for only girls.  Additionally, Mary has an addiction to police work, and, police related things.  She also keeps her own files, on things.  Mary makes a note, about Donlevy’s disappearance, and it is placed in a file.  Mary Giordano has 1 brother and 1 sister.  Mary’s mother is still alive, but, her father died.  Unexpectedly, Mary’s mother arrives, in order, to reprimand Mary’s sister.  Mary’s sister is reprimanded about having birth control pills.  Surprisingly, Mary enters the room, and, she confesses that the pills are hers.  Mary’s mother leaves the room.  Mary’s sister refuses to talk to Mary.  Mary Giordano rides her bicycle to school.  In the girl’s bathroom, at the high school, Mary and a friend talk about the Donlevy disappearance.  Mary’s friend wants to talk about high school things.  However, Mary insists to talk about Donlevy.  Surprisingly, Mary’s friend yells at Mary.  To her, Kathleen Donlevy, is not a story in the newspaper.  Kathleen is the sister of Margie Donlevy.  Margie Donlevy is older than Kathleen.  Mary’s friend asks Mary, if, she wants to be set up on a date.  Mary thinks about, why, she doesn’t have a boyfriend.  In class, the nun reprimands Mary Giordano.  Surprisingly, Margie Donlevy enters the classroom.  Unexpectedly, Margie runs out of the classroom.  After school, Mary rides her bicycle.  She arrives at the local police station.  Mary greets a police officer, at the front desk.  She asks if, Detective Jerry Guinn is in.  She is told yes, and, she enters to see him.  Mary sits down in front of Det. Guinn.  Det. Guinn feels frustrated to see her.  Mary asks to know, about the Donlevy case.  Apparently, Mary’s father was a police officer who died, while on duty.  Det. Guinn walks Mary to the door, and, he closes the door.  Mary looks through school yearbooks.  Surprisingly, she finds Kathleen Donlevy.  Kathleen is, or was, a champion swimmer.  At a local swimming pool, Mary thinks about being Kathleen.  She also swims.  Surprisingly, Mary notices a suspicious man.  The man is young, and, he talks to teenage girls.  Mary decides to follow, the suspicious man.  The suspicious man walks, and, he arrives at his rented house.  Mary takes out her camera, and, she takes photographs.  The suspicious man is photographed, holding a gun.  Time passes, Kathleen Donlevy has been missing for 3 weeks.  Mary visualizes Kathleen at the carnival.  Furthermore, she visualizes the suspicious man following Kathleen.  Kathleen runs, and, Mary wakes up.  After school, Mary waits for a bus.  Unexpectedly, the suspicious man watches, from the other side of the street.  Mary starts to walk, and, the suspicious man follows.  Mary arrives at her house; running.  From the window, Mary sees the suspicious man watching the house.  In her bedroom, Mary practices picking locks.  Unexpectedly, Mary’s mother sends her to the store.  At the store, Mary shops, and, she practices avoiding the suspicious man.  Unexpectedly, Mary crashes into the suspicious man.  Mary sprays pepper spray, on the man’s face.  The man rubs his eyes, in pain.  It results that, the suspicious man is a police cadet.  The man’s name is Tony Campbell.  Furthermore, they sit in front of Det. Guinn; explaining what happened.  Campbell is working on the Donlevy case.  He thought Mary, was a friend of Kathleen Donlevy.  Det. Guinn reprimands Mary.  Additionally, he orders Mary to take Campbell home.  Mary walks Campbell to his house.  Campbell reveals that, he has ambitions to be a detective, in less than 10 years.  They talk about a similar case, in the State of Utah.  Mary becomes excited, because, she wants to look for the killer; full time.  She also feels that, she empathizes with Kathleen.  Campbell refuses to work with children and baby sit.  Mary returns to the police station, looking for Det. Guinn.  She is told that, Det. Guinn is not working this day.  Mary picks the lock, and, she enters the records office.  Mary finds the file on Kathleen Donlevy.  She also makes a photo copy of the file.  Mary learns that Kathleen was last seen, at a convenience store.  On her way out of the building, Mary sees Campbell.  Campbell chases after Mary.  Campbell asks Mary, if, they can work together.  Reluctantly, Mary agrees to work with Campbell.  Campbell and Mary travel to the convenience store.  Campbell asks the cashier questions.  The cashier refuses to cooperate.  Campbell physically restrains the cashier.  The cashier says what, he knows about Kathleen.  He remembers Kathleen buying cleaning products, and, a blue car.  Campbell and Mary leave.  Additionally, Mary is upset about Campbell’s tactics.  They argue with each other.  Campbell and Mary pass time waiting.  Calmly, they talk about things.  Campbell leaves, and, Mary thinks about Campbell; in her bedroom.  Mary dreams about being in love, with Campbell.  The next morning, Mary listens to the radio.  Mary learns that the carnival is in the last week, of being in Burlingame.  Mary travels to the carnival.  She also asks to talk, to the manager’s office.  Mary asks about the cities, in which, they have been in for the previous year.  She also continues working on her notes.  Mary convinces her brother, to enter the DMV’s website.  DMV is the Department of Motor Vehicles.  Mary’s brother makes a list of the registered cars, which belong, to the carnival employees.  Mary continues working on her notes.  In particular, Mary is looking for a blue car.  Surprisingly, a man named Earl Parkins, has several cars registered under his name.  On the telephone, Mary and Campbell talk about the suspect.  Campbell and Mary meet up, and, they travel to the carnival.  At the carnival, they find Parkins.  They also talk about the case.  Mary gets on a ride, in order, to get a closer look at Parkins.  Mary notices that, Parkins wears a rabbit’s foot.  Campbell and Mary follow Parkins.  They arrive at an industrial building.  From a window, Campbell and Mary, watch Parkins meet up with a woman.  Parkins and the woman have sexual intercourse.  Campbell and Mary, return to the car and wait.  Parkins and the woman leave, in their own car.  Mary is able to write down, the license plate number of the woman’s car.  Campbell and Mary return to Campbell’s house.  They start to drink beer.  They also start to work on the files.  Unexpectedly, Mary drops her purse.  The pictures of Campbell fall out, and, Campbell picks up the pictures.  Campbell wants to know, when she took the pictures.  Surprisingly, Mary stands in front of Campbell.  She kisses Campbell, and, she runs out of the house.  Campbell chases after her.  Mary thinks that, she isn’t pretty.  Campbell thinks that, Mary is beautiful.  They continue kissing, and, have sexual intercourse; in Mary’s car.  In the shower, Mary feels sad.  The next morning, Det. Guinn wakes up Mary.  Det. Guinn wants to know where Mary was, the night before.  Apparently, the police discovered the body, of a murder victim.  Det. Guinn takes Mary to the crime scene.  Furthermore, he also reprimands Mary.  Mary disobeys, and, she continues working on the Donlevy case.  Mary finds out that Sherry Tarnley, is the woman who was seen with Parkins.  Mary travels to Sherry’s house.  Surprisingly, she watches Parkins and Sherry argue with each other.  Sherry and Parkins leave, in Parkins’s car.  Mary follows on her bicycle.  Unexpectedly, Mary crashes into a dumpster.  Mary returns to the police station.  Apparently, the police have found Donlevy’s body.  Furthermore, the police have also captured the killer, of the recently found body.  The police believe that, the man is the same person, who killed Donlevy.  Everything is closed, and, the Donlevy case is closed.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  Tony Campbell’s true identity is revealed.  Earl Parkins and Det. Guinn die in the process.  The story of Kathleen’s death is revealed.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
