Movie Narrative: Rounds (2008)


The captivation of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration.  For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie narrative.  This week, Rounds (2008), will be converted into a narrative and subsequently highlighted.  It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then, he or she watches the movie.  The effort is to give the blog reader, an enhanced experience.  RB28’s Movie Narratives, ends this movie narrative of Rounds (2008), with some Hollywood facts.

            The synopsis follows.  Rounds (2008) is a story about life, out of the City of Los Angeles.  In Los Angeles, California U.S.A., life appears to be good.  Particularly, for a man named, Jensen Murdoch.  Jensen is a rich man, but, through money that he inherited from his mother.  Furthermore, he is also a singer, in a rock and roll band.  Interestingly, Jensen’s life is heavily interconnected, with the lives of his friends.  For example, his friend Terry lives and sleeps on his sofa.  Terry is also an unemployed freelance writer.  The other friend is William.  William lives with his girlfriend, Julie.  The rest of the friends become the group of friends.  The group of friends is made up of a couple of university students, and, a man nicknamed Hollywood.  Jensen doesn’t feel the stress of having to work a job, or, responsibility.  As a matter of fact, Jensen passes the day, in any way he wishes.  For Jensen Murdoch, the City of Los Angeles, is one big giant park.  For this particular time, in Jensen’s life, a low level actress changes things.  The actress’s name is, Gina.  Furthermore, she is having trouble finding acting work.  For some unknown reason, her life path and Jensen’s path, keep crossing.  One faithful night and at a restaurant, Gina finally lets Jensen score a point.  Gina was at the restaurant, and, she left angry.  Jensen was at the same restaurant, and, he was outside talking to someone.  Gina and Jensen meet, coincidentally, in the parking lot.  They decide to extend the night, and, Gina sleeps at Jensen’s apartment.  However, the presence of Gina changes things for Jensen.  In particular, Gina changes things with his friends.  All of his friends start to see Jensen as a stupid rich man, who thinks that life is a big game.  The rock and roll band, also throws Jensen out, as the singer.  Furthermore, his friends push him out of their minds and lives.  Jensen is left to face the reality of being an irresponsible rich man, who lives in the City of Los Angeles.  Director, Mark Atienza, does a good job.  This movie feels like a fun story, for the day one skips school, or, a university class.  The writer, Mark Atienza, does an equally good job.  The interaction between the friends is well written.  Furthermore, it feels that it happens, the way it would happen.  The officially recognized stars contribute tremendously.  They would be missed, if they were not chosen.  Overall, Rounds (2008) earns the rating of 7 out of 10.
            The movie narrative of, Rounds (2008), is as follows.  Jensen Murdoch arrives at a man’s home.  The man is named Edward.  Jensen enters the home.  The scene changes, and, Jensen wakes up.  He is in the home of a woman.  The scene changes, and, William wakes up.  William lives with his girlfriend.  Additionally, his girlfriend also wakes up.  Jensen and the woman, pass time in the kitchen.  The woman tells Jensen that, she is only interested in a love affair; not a relationship.  William prepares for the day, and, he passes time with his girlfriend in bed.  His girlfriend is named, Julie.  Jensen leaves his apartment, to go play basketball.  Terry is staying with Jensen, and, he sleeps on the sofa.  Jensen arrives at the park, and, he talks with William.  The rest of the group, is already there.  The group of friends passes the day playing basketball.  The scene changes, and, a woman waits for a meeting with Mr. Meyer.  The scene changes, Jensen talks to a friend.  Jensen and William, stay at the park to talk.  The scene changes, and, the woman is in a meeting with Mr. Meyer.  The woman is a low level actress.  Mr. Meyer is skeptical, about his talent group, representing the woman.  The woman tells Mr. Meyer that, she will do what is necessary.  Terry passes time, in Jensen’s apartment.  Furthermore, he is unemployed.  At the park, Jensen and William talk about Terry.  Julie is at the office.  Furthermore, Julie works on, or doing, advertisement campaigns.  Terry passes the day, unemployed.  Jensen is the singer of a rock and roll band.  Jensen arrives for a meeting with his rock and roll band.  Jensen argues with the band about their music.  The band feels that, Jensen holds them back.  The day becomes night, Jensen feels restless.  Jensen ends up at a bar.  Mr. Meyer is at the same bar, by coincidence.  Jensen meets a woman, and, she leaves with him.  The scene changes, and, Jensen is at Edward’s house talking.  The scene changes, and, Jensen remembers his mother.  The scene changes, and, Jensen wakes up.  Jensen is at the home, of the woman, he met at the bar.  The woman wakes up, and, she watches Jensen leave.  The woman asks Jensen to call her, at the last minute.  The group of friends watches sports at Jensen’s apartment.  Julie is there with William.  Julie and Jensen have a moment, with each other, in the kitchen.  William watched the moment.  On the roof of the apartment building, Terry and Jensen pass time talking.  Terry’s girlfriend is seeing another man.  At a coffee shop, Jensen meets the woman, who is an actress.  The woman rejects, Jensen’s attempts, at flirting.  Terry is told that, an interview has been cancelled.  Terry is a freelance writer.  He is associated with a magazine, but, he doesn’t get paid until he writes something.  At their house, William and Julie talk about, not having sex.  William arrives at Jensen’s apartment.  On the roof of the building, William and Jensen pass time talking.  Time passes and it is the morning.  Jensen leaves a woman’s house running.  William waits for Jensen, in his car.  William stops driving, because, he wants to know the story of what happened.  Jensen tells William that, he’s having sex with a married woman.  Furthermore, that her husband arrived early and caught them.  The scene changes, and, Jensen is at Edward’s house talking.  The scene changes, and, Jensen wakes up Terry.  Jensen wants Terry to leave his apartment, and, move on with his life.  Terry makes a reference to Jensen, about him being rich.  Jensen passes the day, by himself.  Terry leaves Jensen’s apartment.  At the coffee shop, Jensen meets the woman who is an actress; one more time.  The woman’s name is, Gina.  Gina is successful, at rejecting, Jensen’s flirting.  The group of friends re-unites, at the park, to play basketball.  Jensen starts a fist fight, with another man.  Terry arrives at the roof of the apartment building, where Jensen lives.  Apparently, Jensen’s fight became several fights.  William and Jensen are cooling off, from their respective fist fight.  In the kitchen, Terry attempts to pay Jensen rent.  Terry pawned his truck for the money.  Jensen rejects the rent money.  Jensen and the rock and roll band, hold a practice session.  William and Terry play basketball, at the park.  Time is passing, or time passes, Jensen leaves the homes of several women; several times.  After the women, Jensen passes time not being worried about money, or, a job.  During this time, Terry attempts to write something.  At their house, William and Julie continue to have relationship problems.  Apparently, Terry stole avocados, and, he sold them.  He attempts to pay Jensen his part.  Jensen rejects the money, and, they go in separate directions for the day.  Jensen meets up, with an old friend, who knew his mother.  The old friend tells Jensen, a story, about his mother.  At an art gallery, Terry attempts to conduct an interview.  Unfortunately, the interview is cancelled.  Terry ends up passing time, with a woman who works there.  The time ended up becoming a date.  Jensen, William and Terry pass time at a restaurant.  William tells Terry that, he is ready to propose marriage to Julie.  Terry meets a woman at the bar, of the restaurant.  The woman approaches the table, and, she recognizes Jensen.  The woman’s name is, Dana.  Dana becomes angry and leaves.  Terry tears up her telephone number.  William and Terry leave, when, Jensen notices that Gina is also there.  Gina appears to be on a date, with Mr. Meyer.  Gina leaves angry, and, Gina and Jensen meet in the parking lot.  Jensen convinces Gina, to pass the remainder of the night, with him.  Terry continues writing something that, he is working on.  Jensen and Gina, return to Jensen’s apartment.  Jensen and Gina pass time, on the roof of the building.  In the morning, Terry leaves Jensen what he has been writing; a movie script.  At their house, William and Julie continue to have relationship problems.  Jensen and William, pass time in William’s kitchen.  Jensen takes Gina to a quick meeting, with someone.  Jensen starts to read Terry’s movie script, but, he ends up playing basketball.  Jensen plays basketball, with an unknown black man.  Furthermore, the unknown black man leaves with Terry’s movie script.  Terry and the woman he met, progress their relationship.  Furthermore, she drops off Terry, at the park.  Unfortunately, the woman recognizes Jensen.  Jensen and the rock and roll band, perform a concert.  Gina is in attendance, at the concert.  After the concert, Jensen hosts a big party, for a lot of people at his apartment.  One of the members of the band tells Terry that, Jensen used to have sex with Sarah.  Regrettably, Sarah is Terry’s date, or, girlfriend.  Terry feels bitter about, what he was told.  At the party, the rock and roll band tells Jensen that, he is out as a member of the band.  Furthermore, Terry confronts Jensen about having sex with Sarah.  From this point forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end.  At this point, everyone feels that Jensen, is a stupid rich person.  Furthermore, that he thinks life is a big game.  The entire group attempts to push Jensen out, of their minds and lives.  It results that, Edward is Jensen’s father.  Finally; you have to watch, in order to know, how this movie ends.
